Doug Norris Discusses the First Major Release of the 2011 Census

On February 14th, Dr. Doug Norris will present a webinar on the results from the first release of 2011 Census data. The session will focus on population growth patterns at the national, provincial and metropolitan area levels over the last five years, with a comparison to the earlier period 2001-2006. The results are expected to show a continuation of some population growth trends as well as some surprising turnaround stories. Doug also will compare population changes in the largest metropolitan areas of Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, citing population growth winners and losers and giving special mention to areas undergoing significant change. In addition, he’ll explore the underlying trends in births, deaths and migration that determine the growth of population.
