Environics Analytics Career Opportunity: Software Developer

Environics Analytics seeks a Software Developer to help build and enhance the marketing and analytics company’s data-driven software. The successful candidate will join an agile development team that supports a software-as-a-service micromarketing platform, and will assist in adding new functionality, expanding existing capabilities and resolving technical issues. In addition, the position involves working on custom projects for both internal users and customers. The Software Developer will participate in planning and executing development team objectives, and must be able work well both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to internal requests for software version updates
  • Create new reports, user interfaces and software functions
  • Enhance database structure and speed
  • Conceptualize and program new software functionality
  • Assist with periodic dataset updates in ENVISION
  • Develop automated approaches to analyze consumers for client presentations
  • Work with state-of-the-art hardware (servers, software, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in social sciences, marketing, geography or a computer-related field
  • Fluent in a variety of programming languages: C#, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3
  • Excellent data manipulation skills (proficient in SQL, Excel and Access)
  • Ability to design, maintain and optimize databases
  • Understanding of data models
  • Excellent math and analytical skills for problem-solving
  • Experience in database structure and design
  • Comfortable working in an office environment
  • Ability to work with large databases a plus
  • Geography skills a plus
  • Outgoing and creative self-starter who can interact easily with others
